News Update 27th September 2011

 Tuesday 27 September 2011 - 19:23:51 | Dave

IBM Lakeside

Nick Bennet Decided to give PortsmouthDAS Lakeside a try for the first time, he fished from 9am - 3pm.

Nick fished peg 55 and started off with an inline feeder and bread at distance just to see if anything would take, after 1hr and 1 nibble he decided to go onto the pole. He fed two swims both about 5 metres out, one with liquidised bread and one with his homemade bait. The bread line he left alone until near the end of the session and just kept topping it up every now and again.

Things got a little busy after that, out of his main pole swim I took out 11 carp of 1 - 1.5lb, 23 carp of 3 - 5lb & 6 carp of 7 - 8lb... He even had two out whilst talking to the bailiff

When he run out his my main bait he thought he'd give the bread line half an hour, as soon as he put it in another carp of about 4lb came shortly followed by 6 others with the smallest being 1.5lb....

”All I can say is a quality days fishing well in excess of 100lb” said a very happy Nick.

River Wallington

A Wallington Bailiff enjoyed a successful trip to Southwick Pool on the “Wally” landing two wonderful chub both in excess of 2 pounds. There are even bigger specimens in the river along with dace, roach, perch and carp. The fishing is best from now onwards and the beauty s that the river never freezes!!!
