...Alver Valley...
There may be a delay in opening Alver to fishing. As of the 25th March 2008 we have not received conformation that we can start from the 1st April 2008. We know it's in the handbook, but these had to go to the printers 2 months ago based on the information we had at the time. The gate will NOT have the club padlock on it until we have been given permission to start. There will be a sign on the gate (vandals permitting) to let you know when you can start fishing there. The reasons for the possible delay are totally outside of the Clubs and Gosport Councils control. |

...New Fish Stocks...

To keep you up to date, fish stocks went into Carron Row Farm pond 4 and 3, the following went in on the 15th February
Roach from 4oz to 10 oz 130lbs
Bream from 4oz to 1lb 150lbs
Tench from 8oz to 2lbs (plus 2 x 5lb each)
And from Ian Snook today...(5th March)
Spoke with Terry Sears and Steve Lynch, this morning a successful trip, we received from Hallcroft fishery,
approx 2000+ Roach from 1oz to 10oz
(Steve's words prime fish with a few skimmers and ruff mixed in)
with approx 600 Perch from 1oz to 8oz (with a few 1lb fish).
They were placed as follows:
Brownwich
250 Perch
CRF
Pond 1
100 perch and 300 Roach
Pond 3
100 perch and 300 Roach
Pond 4
100 + Perch and 1500+ Roach.

Well done to those involved, apart from the tree work above, new stiles were also put in place. So, once again, lots of work done by a small number of people in a short space of time. |
